Ryan Winchester (Owner)

A second-generation contractor born and raised on the East Coast where he gained his experience in renovations and landscaping, Ryan packed up and headed West with a one-way ticket, a tent, and $600.

He started out in the Vancouver area working in utility construction but eventually moved on to electrical work as an electrical apprentice. While doing electrical work for a few years he was also doing renovations part-time and building custom cabinets out of a small garage workshop.

The demand for his workmanship steadily increased until he started Winchester Construction Ltd. in early 2008.

We have been completing excellent projects since then and will continue doing so for many years to come.

In 2010, after building many beautiful decks around the lower mainland, BC and seeing a demand for quality decks that are built to a higher standard than is common, we started Winchester Decks. Ryan recently was published with a feature article in the July-August 2010 edition of Professional Deck Builder magazine with the cover photo.

When you make an appointment, you will be meeting Ryan. He will go over the project details with you; your expectations, design ideas, and your project budget. After taking all the details, taking photos, and measurements we will work out a detailed scope of work and project cost.

Les Jackson (Lead Carpenter)

Les has over thirty years of experience in the world of carpentry and is an inter-provincial journeyman carpenter. His experience also includes some time teaching Carpentry. He has a diverse background which includes everything from tilt-up construction to timber-framing, fine finishing, and working on ‘leaky condo’ repair work.

Les started working with us at the end of 2008 and has been a valuable asset since. He is polite, friendly and takes great pride in his work. An exceptional craftsman, indeed!

His knowledge and experience are always welcome additions to any project.

Depending on the schedule and size of project you will either see Ryan, Les, or both leading the work on your project.
